Our stock changes rapidly, so if you do not see exactly what you need online, please contact us and we can see what is in stock. We also source many specific items for clients.

DELIVERIES.

We offer Free Postage and Packaging within the UK and internationally.

  • We ship using various methods depending on the item and the location of the client. All items will require a signature on delivery.
  • Within the UK we use Royal Mail, TNT & UPS.
  • Internationally we use Fedex and Parcel Force.
  • We try to ship within one working day of receipt of payment.
  • Please contact us if you have any specific shipping requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them.
  • We have our own Goods in Transit Insurance, and each Item is fully insured during shipping.

RETURNS

We offer returns within 7 days of delivery. 
In the rare event that the item has been damaged in transit, please contact us immediately and we will address the best course of action.

ABOUT SILVER - TYPES OF SILVER & SILVER PURITY

STERLING SILVER

925 Silver is Sterling Silver, and is the silver standard for British Silver. This means that the silver is 92.5% Silver and the rest is made up of various metal alloys. You can tell the quality of British Silver through the use of Hallmarks. The Lion Passant Stamp indicates 925 Purity Silver.

BRITANNIA SILVER

Britannia Silver is 958 Silver and is Hallmarked with the female figure of Britannia. As with Sterling the 958 refers to 95.8% Silver.

OTHER SILVER STANDARDS

Silver items have been produced worldwide for many hundreds of years, and various standards of Silver and quality control have been applied. Continental European Silver has been produced in 800, 880, 900 and 925 Silver for instance.

SILVER PLATING

Silver Plating is a method whereby a thin layer of silver is used to cover an item made of a base metal such as brass, copper or white metal through a process of electroplating. It was a method employed to make more cost effective items that have the same look as Solid Silver items. This is not to say that there are not some spectacular pieces made of Silver Plate, as there most certainly are.

OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE

An earlier method for producing Silver Plating over a base metal. In this method, thin sheets of Silver are fused to copper plates. This process was widely used from its invention in the early 1740s until electroplating was introduced in the 1840s. After this the Sheffield Plate method was only used far more rarely. Due to the relatively short period that Sheffield Plating was employed, good quality objects of Sheffield Plate are sought after and highly collectable.
