A pair of magnificent Antique Victorian Silver Gilt Comports with cut glass liners. Each Comport has a figure standing below a spread vine bough covered in hanging grapes. One figure is of a lady and one of a man and each figure is wearing period clothing. The Lady appears to be gathering fruit and the gentleman is wearing ice skates. The figures are supported by lobed triangular pedestal bases further embellished with vine and grape designs. The round glass liners are decorated with foliate designs. There are some subtle later engraved inscriptions dating from 1931.

Made in London, England in 1859 by Hunt & Roskell (Late Storr & Mortimer)
