A magnificent Antique Sterling Silver Steeple Cup in the style of the original steeple cups of the early 1600s. The Cup is embellished with rich, detailed chased designs. The Cup has a central band is a frieze engraved with a classical chariot race. This detailed frieze is complemented by ornate bands on the lid, body and foot of the Cup showing patterns of shells, foliate designs and other patterns. The lid of the Cup is embellished with a tall 'steeple' finial from which the Steeple Cup name derives.
